What does a possum look like?
Brushtail possums have a pointy face and a pink nose.
They have long pink ears and a big bushy black tail.
Brushtail possums have grey fur and whiskers.
They are about the size of a big cat.
Ringtail Possums have grey fur over most of their body. They also have white fur behind the eyes and on their belly and on the tip of their long tail.
Sometimes Ringtail Possums can have some orange or brown fur on their tail and legs. They are about the size of a small cat.

The Ringtail Possum has a prehensile tip at the end of its tail. This means it can use its tail like another hand.
That is very clever!
The Ringtail Possum has a strong tail with a white tip. It keeps its tail coiled up like a snail when it is not using it.
Possums use their tails to carry things. They carry bunches of grass, leaves and bark to build their nests.
They loop their tails around the things like an extra hand.
